2000-2003 Sustainable Communities Initiative Project Sponsored by NRCan: a greenhouse gas emissions reduction plan for the City of Bathurst as part of the Partners for Climate Change Program. BSD was trained in and acquired GIS capacity.

2000 Partners for Climate Change Protection, Milestone 1 In April of 2000, the City of Bathurst and Bathurst Sustainable Development jointly signed an international resolution making them the 81st Canadian Municipality to join the Partners for Climate Change Protection Program.

2000 The Kyoto Committee Green Plan A greenhouse gas inventory and recommendations for a community-wide strategy presented to the City of Bathurst.

2002 Abandoned and Closed Mines Committee The committee assesses the environmental impact of contamination leaching from local sites on drinking water supplies.

2002 Fresh Water for Atlantic Canada: Emerging Issues for the 21st Century This conference explored the link between water quality and human health and the impact of climate change on water quality and quantity. 86 participants attended.

2002-2015 The Rain Barrel Project 618 rain barrels constructed and distributed to citizens in 2002 and 2003; over 800 distributed by 2015, with training on how to make them.

2002-2007 Septic Tank Conversion Project 11 to 16 grants per year of $2,500 to $2,700 to low-income homeowners in need of a new or upgraded sewage treatment system.

2003 Partners for Climate Change Protection, Milestones 2 and 3 The Local Plan of Action for GHG Emissions Reduction submitted to City Council, and funding from Transport Canada and FCM for an urban transit feasibility study.

2003-2004 Urban Transportation Project A feasibility study and public consultations to prepare the City for the implementation of an Urban Transit Bus service.

2003-2004 The Solar Mapping Project A curb side assessment to identify which residential and commercial properties in the City of Bathurst are suitable for solar thermal and solar voltaic panels.

2003-2004 The Traveling Enviro Club Project Encouraging schools to develop Enviro Clubs and exposing children to current environmental information and issues.

2004-2006 The One-Tonne Challenge Selected by Environment Canada as one of 41 community organizations to lead a One-Tonne Challenge Community Challenge in Canada.

2004-2019 Environmental Resource Center At the Bathurst City Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings: a Solar Showcase of live working solar systems and information on energy efficiency, renewable energy, conservation and sustainable living.
2005 to 2009

2005-2006 The Solar City Project Solar Grants for residential homeowners in New Brunswick and P.E.I. to install a solar thermal air heating or solar hot water heating system.

2005-2006 The Urban Transit Test Project BSD wrote the funding applications, business plan and Pollution Control Policy, managed the project and the transit system, and wrote a How to Guide for a Small Urban Transit System.

2005 onward Earth Film Festival and Lecture Series Monthly evening showings of Earth Sciences films and National Film Board documentaries with invited guest lectures, always free of charge to the public.

2006-2007 The Regional Fleet Assessment Project A feasibility study on a daily transit bus service serving the region from Bathurst to Belledune.

2007-2008 STAP: A Sustainable Transportation Action Plan for the City of Bathurst Public consultations to identify ways the City can increase citizens' participation in active and sustainable transportation options.

2007-2008 Water Conservation Program A doorknob information flyer on water conservation distributed to every home and business in the city, with presentations to local groups and schools.

2007-2019 The Bathurst Community Garden Program The Bathurst Community Garden in Victoria Park, established with the City of Bathurst, to help citizens preserve biodiversity, grow their own local food and participate in active living.

2008-2009 Community Energy Efficiency Campaign 7,000 Green Up Home Toolkits distributed with Eco Action, the Province of NB, Efficiency NB, NB Power, the Nepisiguit Chaleur Solid Waste Commission, Aliant and the City of Bathurst.

2008-2009 Education and Stewardship Program on the Maritime Ringlet An information booklet on the Maritime Ringlet Butterfly and meetings with landowners living around its salt marsh habitats.
